I AM PRO SNOW
“If the ski industry is to save itself – not to mention help save snow, alpine habitat and ecosystems downstream of the mountains – common sense says it will take a leadership role in decarbonising the planet” – Deep, by Porter Fox
This December the United Nations are meeting at the COP21 Conference in Paris where the goal is to achieve a new international agreement on the climate, applicable to all countries, with the aim of keeping global warming below 2°C of pre-industrial levels. This Framework Convention is a universal convention of principle, acknowledging the existence of human-induced climate change and giving industrialized countries the major part of responsibility for combating it.
The Climate Reality Project, have carefully put together a statement in the form of a letter addressed to the UN as a to a ‘Call for Action’ from the winter sports community. The goal is to have as many signatories to this letter before the conference as possible.
By electronically signing this letter to the UN you will be joining a strong international coalition of the winter sports community (and others) to push our world leaders to act on climate change. Most recent signatories include Olympic and professional freeskiing athletes, heads of businesses big and small and city councils (including Park City and the city of Vail).
Please take one minute of your time to read and sign the letter as an individual or on behalf of your organisation or business.
You can further support this goal by sharing this via email or social media with associates and friends, or take the initiative and reach out to your entire business, snow related network and/ or local community.
